The primary school curriculum builds on the strong foundation provided at the nursery school level.
The curriculum is designed for students to develop writing, speaking and listening skills. For writing skills the emphasis is on creative writing, handwriting, grammar, spellings and vocabulary. For speaking and listening the emphasis is on conversation, recitation and comprehension.
The students can never run out of reading options. A vast collection of books is available via the in-class and the main school library.
The focus is on clarity of the concepts. Students perform several activities that demonstrate mathematical concepts. The activities make mathematical concepts tangible and therefore easy to understand, remember, and apply. Mental math exercises are also introduced at this level.
Like in math the focus here is also on clarity of the concepts. Teachers demonstrate experiments and students prepare projects in the form of charts and models (static/working). Excursions are an integral part of the science curriculum.
Several primary school teachers are exceptionally creative. They work tirelessly with the students to produce art work that has left many visitors and parents awe struck. The art and craft classes provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and skill. Their little master pieces are showcased on classroom and school boards and during exhibitions.
Students also have regular music and dance classes. Themed assemblies and school cultural functions provide a platform from them to showcase their really cute play/dance productions.
Junior School council governs classes 1-5 and consists of a head boy, a head girl, vice-captains and prefects. The council under the guidance of the teachers is responsible for discipline in the classroom, the corridors and the assembly.
The school has a house system that begins at this level. The house system helps to inculcate a sense of collective responsibility, team spirit and healthy competition.
Students play several sports including basketball, football, kho kho, and badminton as part of organized school games. Then there is yoga for focus and well being, karate for self defense, and calisthenics for flexibility.
As technology is most effective with students at this level it has been incorporated into the classrooms in the form of OHPs, SMART board and digital content. Technology has turned learning into an amalgamation of classroom study, research and discovery. Every lesson is an interactive session between the teacher, the taught and the environment. The interactive class sessions often end in very creative home assignments.
